Horsetail #2 - Monotype Collage

Horsetail #2 is an acrylic monotype collage with machine stitching.

Artwork area is ~6" x 6", paper size is 8" x 8"

Available with a white acid-free mat for an additional $10, which would make the piece ready for a 12" x 12" frame of your choice. 

All the pieces in my "Botanical Mashups" series started as two prints made on my gel printing plate with acrylic paint and various plants found around my neighborhood.

One of these prints uses the plant as a mask and the other print pulls the texture left by the plant on the plate. After carefully cutting up both prints and swapping sections, I put them back together with a little bit of stitching to create a pair of "mashups". 

The partner piece to this work is Horsetail #1, seen in the 5th photo.
