In this workshop, students will be introduced to Gel Plate Printmaking using an 8" x 10" gel plate, acrylic paint, and leaves, ferns, branches, and flowers to build unique botanical gel prints.

Gel Printing: From Play to Plan

In this two-day workshop, we’ll begin by experimenting with the playful, spontaneous side of the process—layering colors, textures, and marks to discover how this versatile, non-traditional printing method works.
Once everyone becomes comfortable with the materials and techniques, we’ll shift toward a more intentional approach, using our prints to build layered abstract compositions.

Intermediate Gel Printing Techniques

Take your gel printing skills to the next level in this intermediate workshop focused on creating rich, layered mixed-media prints. Explore image transfer techniques using magazines, laser copies, graphite, and oil pastels, while also drawing directly on the gel plate with acrylic markers. Students will learn how to combine multiple techniques into a single, dynamic gel print.
