Shifting Perspectives - Monoprint on Panel

This piece is a 8.5" x 10.5" monoprint on watercolor paper that is mounted to a flat, uncradled plywood panel. It is sealed with a gloss varnish, signed on the back, wired and ready to hang on your wall. 

“Shifting Perspectives” is part of a series from 2023 where I explored one of my favorite shapes, the circle. I often use circle-like shapes in my work, such as rocks, stones, rings, or arches, but I wanted to play with a true circle. Perhaps because I’ve battled control issues in my life, there is something about the perfectly round, crisp edges of these circles that I find very calming. The clean lines from the circles are balanced with organic, irregular shapes created from found objects used in the base layers of my printing process, as well as the rough texture of cold press watercolor paper.
