Hiding in Plain Sight - Original Work on Paper

This piece is an 6" x 6" monoprint on cold press watercolor paper with embroidery thread and includes two of my favorite things circles and grids.

It is matted in a crisp white acid free mat with matching backer board ready to fit the 10" x 10" frame of your choosing. 

“Hiding in Plain Sight” is part of a series from 2023 where I explored one of my favorite shapes, the circle. I often use circle-like shapes in my work, such as rocks, stones, rings, or arches, but I wanted to play with a true circle. Perhaps because I’ve battled control issues in my life, there is something about the perfectly round, crisp edges of these circles that I find very calming. The clean lines from the circles are balanced with organic, irregular shapes created from found objects used in the base layers of my printing process, as well as the rough texture of cold press watercolor paper.
